Welcome to Walpole Catholic Collaborative's Confirmation Program!
Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation, along with Baptism and Eucharist. While baptism is the sacrament of rebirth to a new and supernatural life, confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age. It is conferred by the anointing of Chrism oil and the laying on of hands by the Bishop. The Sacrament of Confirmation draws us into a greater awareness of the Holy Spirit, which we received at Baptism. Through this sacrament, we confirm the presence of the baptismal gifts we have already received; we are sealed with the undeserved and unearned gift of the Holy Spirit.
By a signing with the gift of the Spirit, confirmation enriches the baptized with the Holy Spirit, binding them more perfectly to the Church, and strengthening them in their witness to Christ by word and deed and in their work to bring to its fullness the Body of Christ.
The Confirmation program is available for children in seventh and eighth grades and high school students that have not been confirmed.
Adult Catholics who are practicing, but have not been confirmed, should call the parish office to receive the necessary preparation to be confirmed.
The program is a two-year program broken down as follows:
Year #1
All 7th graders will enter into Year One of the Confirmation preparation program. If any 8th, 9th or 10th grader has not completed the Year One program at the Walpole Catholic Collaborative, they can register for and enter Year One of the program.
Year #2
All eligible 8th graders or high school students who attend a public, private, or parochial school and have completed Year One of the Walpole Catholic Collaborative Confirmation program, can register and enter the Year Two sessions. These candidates will be eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the end of the program at a date/time to be determined.
