Birthday WishesBirthday in a Box Program for children and families who celebrate birthdays while living in local area shelters. Who doesn't love to celebrate a birthday? Well, for thousands of unhoused children throughout the New England and New York areas living in shelters, celebrating a birthday would not be possible without the generous volunteers from the Birthday Wishes organization. Based in Natick, Massachusetts and Long Island, NY, this organization depends on the generosity of others to collect much needed donation items to create a fun-filled birthday party in a box which is then delivered to the shelter to share with the birthday child and their family. Birthday kits include everything you'd need to throw the perfect birthday bash: from themed cups, plates and table covers to cake mix and baking tins, streamers and balloons, and finally-- a special gift just for the birthday child! This project will be offered twice this year, in the Fall/Winter and in the Spring. Dates TBD.
